hello dear wonderful radio friends!

my name is wim (or for dx Willy, because is much more readebly), a simply dutch name, powerful. Also my call sign:

PD5DX

 

the colour sounds of my call sign, fills the audio modulation, hi

i live in a town called Venlo, near the German border in the south part of the netherlands. since 1984 i am busy with radio stuff, infected by my father, also radio amateur, passed away 11 years ago. His call sign was pa0ers ( Tonny ).sk now.

 

 

 

My first try out wasa 2 meter home brewed set by my father with a double quad window antenne, and a frg7700 hf radio with a long wire antenna. i listened and listened to all the amateur bands. in 1988 i discovered 27 mHz band, and was very active that time on this frequency, till 1994. then i picked up the radio activity in 1996 again and studied for my licence ( in only 2 months) and got the N license in 2004. in between i was active, and now on active, as club member and secretary of the radio club VRZA noord Limburg, call PI4VNL. (victoria nancy londonnnn) We are very active in all details. look at www.pi4vnl.nl.

last four years i changed antennas en mast and equipment, all new stuff, and i am equipped with the most beautiful sound i ever heard:

Now it is nice audiostuff! Very good modulation and worked many DX, far far away.What i use:

a behringer ultragain mic.pre-amp, two times ibanez (boss) 31 bands eq, - behringer autocom pro.-behringer ultrafex 2. an sony amplifier, bose 301 speakers, and a senheisser microphone and headphone. i do monitoring with a yaesu frg-7700 when i want.

 

also for fun and music in my shack, i have a vintage akai "19" inch set mounted in a 19 inch audio rack! wouwsie wouwsie!

see below the picture of my 144 mHz sirio beams, 12 metres up the ground.

my antennas are a sirio four over four for two meters, a sirio and pkw multiband vertical, 6 meters up the ground in the back of the garden for hf, a home made g5rv, and some sirio verticals for uhf and vhf. For the expeditions and field days i use a 6 meter mast with rotator and an 6 el. Ybeam quad antenne for 144 mhz.

My favourites are dx on two meters with big booming singals from high gain beams, and HF dx, all over the world. Only phone! (because of the audio)

The rig is a ft 897dsp, an icom 706, an old ft 480r, a special 10 meter set, and a tube set, the Sommerkamp FTDX505 in mint condition!, also a 3 meter tuner from luxman, some yaesu tuners and meters, many power supplys, and so on and ofcourse some audio equipment for E-SSB sounds, everything build in an 19 " audio rack!! ( i re-build my shack again in december 2011, now its ready and it is called: "STUDIO-C".)
